        Cellar in Montepulciano

        The Cellar

Located on the slopes of the Montepulciano Hill and enjoying a breathtaking view of the Temple of S. Biagio, the cellar is the old residence of the grandparents. The Anselmi family has in fact decided to preserve the original structure, making some small expansions to make the production functional.

The Cellar is located in two different places, the first structure is located near the vineyards, consisting of two large rooms. The first room houses the fermentation part, with steel barrels and the machinery necessary for the first production phase, while the second room is dedicated to the refinement, with wooden barrels of various sizes.

        Our Philosophy

Since the early years Montemercurio has decided to focus production on a very traditional style, which is why we only use large traditional barrels of various sizes and different types of wood, from Slavonian oak to French oak.

This choice was made to keep the flavors of our grapes intact and unchanged, elevating all the characteristics of the wine through refinement without changing its aromatic texture, thus finding all the nuances of our land in the glass.

        A Unique Wine

The second part of the Cellar is located in the Totona area, the family residence, whose basements are used for bottle aging, where all the new bottled wines and the old historic vintages for the personal reserve are placed.
